The Division of the Vice President and Chief of Staff assists campus administrators in abiding by and carrying out the authority and responsibilities delegated to the University by The University of Texas System Board of Regents and the Texas Legislature. In addition, the division oversees key initiatives as directed by the administration.
The mission of the Information Security Office (ISO) is to protect information acquired and found throughout the University by conducting risk assessments on all sensitive information, promoting security related training and awareness programs, monitoring university systems, and auditing and compliance in support of the University’s missions and goals.
The University of Texas at El Paso is a large, complex and growing teaching and research institution whose successful management requires firm control over all activities through a system of financial and operational procedures. The Office of Auditing and Consulting Services (OACS) is charged with the critical function of overseeing management's disposition of these procedures.
The Office of Government Relations (OGR) strives to promote dialogue and engagement on a wide range of policy and budget issues. OGR works with elected officials, the UT System Administration and Board of Regents, and government agency officials to address concerns that affect higher education.
In support of UTEP's and UT System's visions, missions and goals, the Office of Institutional Compliance strives to provide an atmosphere of compliance awareness so that all UTEP employees may conduct themselves with high ethical standards in compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations by being professional, objective, resourceful, and customer oriented.
The Office of Legal Affairs provides legal advice to The University of Texas at El Paso and the President, administrative officers, faculty, and staff when acting within the course and scope of their employment.
The primary purpose of the Center for Metrics-Based Planning is to study and improve how metrics and analytics are used within a planning framework to improve organizational outcomes at UTEP and other institutions.

The Office of University Relations oversees the planning and management of University events and conferences. Additionally, the office directs promotional activities that enhance UTEP’s image, assists departments in their goals and attracts more attendance at University-sponsored events.
