Research Areas
The Metabolic, Nutrition, and Exercise Research (MiNER) Laboratory investigates the complex interplay between physical activity, metabolic regulation, and chronic disease prevention. The lab explores how neuromuscular stimulation, aerobic and resistance exercise, and combined interventions can improve insulin sensitivity and reduce blood glucose levels. Additional focus is placed on understanding how insulin resistance contributes to the development of metabolic disorders such as type 2 diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease. By integrating molecular biology, physiology, and clinical research, the lab aims to develop effective strategies to combat metabolic dysfunction and improve long-term health outcomes.
