Doctoral Students
Ana Beatriz Nasser
Graduate Research Associate
Ana Beatriz is interested in biomechanics, kinesiology, and exercise physiology, with a focus on how physical activity and technology can enhance rehabilitation outcomes. She has taught anatomy and kinesiology to physical therapy undergraduates, conducted research on shoulder biomechanics, contributed to e-health initiatives for pediatric patients, and investigated exercise capacity in oncology rehabilitation. Currently, she is expanding her work into ankle biomechanics and the integration of AI in healthcare. Her long-term goal is to further develop expertise in AI, machine learning, and data analysis to help reduce global health disparities and promote equitable access to rehabilitation.
Graduate Students
Veronika Lebisova
Lab Team Member
Veronika is a second-year graduate student. As a member of Dr. Jang’s lab, she studies biomechanics with a focus on patients with chronic ankle instability. She is eager to deepen her research skills and apply theoretical knowledge to real-world projects. Through her involvement in the lab, she looks forward to gaining new insights and contributing to ongoing research.
David Nava
Lab Team Member
David is a master’s student with research interests in biomechanics, strength and conditioning, chronic ankle instability, and running. He has contributed to a CAT paper, worked as an assistant head coach at a soccer academy, and gained experience supporting exercise programs for elderly adults through an internship at UTEP. In the lab, he aims to strengthen his skills in biomechanics, Matlab, and scientific writing. His long-term goal is to pursue a PhD and a career as a university professor, advancing research in exercise science, injury prevention, and performance to benefit athletes and the broader community.
Undergraduate Students
Adrian Arzate
Lab Team Member
Adrian is a Kinesiology major with a concentration in Exercise Science and aspires to become a physical therapist. Throughout his academic journey, he is committed to gaining both knowledge and hands-on experience within his field. He strives to continually develop his understanding and clinical skills in order to serve his community effectively and professionally.
Vivian Murrell
Lab Team Member
Vivian Murrell is an undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Finance. She plans to pursue a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. She is passionate about rehabilitation, athletic performance, and bioengineering, and is eager to apply these interests within research laboratory settings.
Melina Saucedo-Flores
Lab Team Member
Melina is a Kinesiology major with the goal of continuing her education in Physical Therapy. With one year left in her undergraduate studies, she is committed to gaining as much applied knowledge as possible from her professors, mentors, and peers, all with the purpose of helping her community feel and move better.
Anakaren Valdez Duron
Lab Team Member
Anakaren is an undergraduate Kinesiology student with a concentration in Exercise Science and plans to pursue a career in Physical Therapy. With experience in physical therapy clinical settings, she is dedicated to enhancing community well-being. As a member of the research lab, she aims to contribute to evidence-based advancements in human movement science.
