Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students

The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) has been awarded $2.6 million (over 4 years) from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), an agency of the Department of Health and Human Services. This HRSA funding will be awarded to qualified disadvantaged students enrolled in the UTEP DPT Program from 2016 to 2020. The funding supports our efforts to educate a diverse group of high quality professionals, many of whom will work in our medically-underserved region upon graduation. Information on how to apply for this scholarship funding will be provided to students just prior to and/or after beginning their studies in the UTEP DPT Program. In Fall 2016, 52 DPT students received funding from the Scholarship for Disadvantaged Students.
