Internal ICPC Competition β Your Pathway to the ICPC Regionals!
The International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) is the worldβs oldest, largest, and most prestigious programming competition. It challenges college students to tackle complex, real-world problems using advanced algorithmic programming skills. In teams of three, participants collaborate, innovate, and code under intense time pressure β putting their teamwork and problem-solving abilities to the test.
On April 11th, 2025, with help from the CSTech Team and the CS Department, the Coding Interview Club (CIC) hosted an Internal ICPC Competition which aimed to increase awareness of ICPC on campus and spark student interest in competitive programming. CIC President, Jorge Garcia, and Vice President, Daniel Fuentes along with officers Joe Mota and Rogelio Lozano, led the organization of the event, providing students with a welcoming and supportive environment to explore this challenging field.
The competition was promoted widely across CS classes and student organizations, resulting in participation from seven teams. In addition to recognizing top performers with awards, the event served as a valuable opportunity for UTEP students to enhance their skills to take the next step toward representing the university at the ICPC Regional Competition this fall.
