Dr. Oscar A. Mondragon is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Computer Science department. He is the Director of the Master of Science in Software Engineering (MSSwE). From August 2014 to December 2019, he defined the strategy, managed the development, and was the program director of the Online Master of Science in Systems Engineering (OMSSE). Dr. Mondragon is also a co-author with Lockheed Martin Aeronautics of the Systems Engineering Boot Camp (SEBC), a course offered at the college level. He was a core committee member for the IEEE CSDP certification.
Dr. Mondragon has published conference papers and journal articles in formal requirements specification, property specification patterns, process improvement models, Team Software Process, CMMI, and Smart Cities applications. His research has been supported by National Science Foundation and Lockheed Martin. His research interest is in interdisciplinary projects applying systems and software engineering approaches in smart cities, process improvement initiatives, and requirements specifications.
Dr. Mondragon is a senior Consultant and facilitates process improvement projects and develops skills in project management and monitoring, risk management, requirements engineering, configuration management, measurement and analysis, process quality assurance, verification and validation, process improvement, service systems, and quantitative project management. He is a certified Intro to CMMI and MDDAP instructor, PSP professional, TSP coach, MDDAP ATM, INCOSE ASEP, and an IEEE senior member.
Dr. Mondragon research interest is formal specification, verification & validation, requirements engineering, process improvements in small settings, adapting TSP for systems/software engineering and service systems, assessing processes in medical devise organizations, smart cities.
