Strong Partnerships
UTEP’s success in preparing the highest-quality teachers stems from our close partnerships with school districts and other important stakeholders in the El Paso region. The UTEP College of Education co-convenes a region-wide Teacher Pipeline Community of Practice comprised of school district leaders, community college leaders, and philanthropic partners. This stakeholder group identified teacher preparation and retention as a top priority – all toward the ultimate goal of improving educational outcomes by making sure there’s an excellent teacher in every El Paso classroom.
The College of Education has also worked side-by-side with district partners to co-design and implement the year-long, paid residency. Through a quarterly governance structure, we share data and work together to continually improve teacher preparation in the region.
