Message from the Chair

Welcome to The University of Texas at El Paso's latest and most innovative department and our website. The Department offers a Bachelor's of Science in Engineering Innovation and Leadership, and a Master's of Science in Integrated Engineering.

These programs are the first in the nation to support a mission of access and excellence in engineering and leadership education, as we concurrently raise both the engineering and leadership aspirations and educational attainment of the residents of our binational region and beyond.

We are providing world-class education in our highly anticipated programs, which include providing experiential learning in advanced research and scholarship that creates deep learning environments for our students, and addresses global challenges and issues of high priority nationally and regionally.

Our mission places the entwined human, economic and technical development and quality of life at the center of our teaching, research and service. Our approach is built on the foundation of strategic plans in the College of Engineering to impact the transformation of higher education in the 21st century.

Our graduates transition from UTEP for successful careers in the most cutting-edge, exciting engineering and technology companies in the US and abroad, working to provide engineering combined with business acumen in innovative industries across the globe; in service science and engineering companies, such as Apple, AT&T, Halliburton, Google, IBM, and in aerospace, defense, energy, and manufacturing industries; product development; NASA; DOD laboratories; and academic positions.
