Statement of Research Expertise and/or Creative Activities
Here's where you describe, in 200-word or less (not too short, though), a bit about your area of research, experience, and express what makes you passionate about these areas. This is a great example on how you are telling your story through Digital Measures.
These keywords are words/phrases that people will identify you with. It is recommended that you use common words related to your teaching and research. Stay away from using terminology that is very specific, too technical, or verbiage that is so broad that that it doesn't’t provide good insight on what you do.
Examples: Student Success, Higher Education Administration, Community Engagement, Professional Development, ...
Note: Although you can add as many words as you want in Digital Measures, your Expertise Connector profile caps the number at six.
This one of the most important fields in Digital Measures. This is the photograph that accompanies your Digital Measures story, and it is used in a couple of places, like your Expertise Connector profile and UTEP Faculty Profile Page.
Although there are no official requirements for images, there are highly recommended guidelines that impact faculty web and research profiles, as well as reporting outputs (see Expertise Connector guide).
The Office of University Communications offers to take, at no cost, faculty members and staff photographs for your professional use (including Digital Measures). You may find them at different faculty-related events throughout UTEP, including department and college faculty meetings. We recommend reaching out and find out when and where is the next photo shoot. The may be on your neck of the woods. You can contact Ms. Laura Trejo, Photography Coordinator, at 747-8740; or at ltrejo@utep.edu.
