We are pleased to announce the launch of ROMA AETERNA 2025, our summer study abroad program in one of Europe’s most beautiful and historic cities. Participants in the program will arrive in Rome on June 19, 2025 and return July 26.
There will be outside excursions to Bracciano, Naples, Ostia Antica, Florence, Siena, and Venice as well as to sites throughout Rome, including the Pantheon, Colosseum, Vatican, and Trevi Fountain, and various museums. Housing will be in a shared residence in the elegant Prati neighborhood.
This unique program is open to UTEP students of all majors, both undergraduates and graduates. Any undergraduate who has completed at least 12 credit hours at UTEP (at the time of application), and attained a cumulative GPA of at least 2.7 is eligible to apply. Graduate students must have a GPA of at least 3.0. There is no credit hour requirement for graduate students.
All students will be required to take two 3000-level courses (6 credits total) that treat both the history and the art/architecture of Rome: Roma Aeterna I: Ancient and Medieval Rome, with Dr. Max Grossman; and Roma Aeterna II: Renaissance and Baroque Rome, with Dr. Paolo Alei.
Financial aid applies and university scholarships that cover part of the program cost will be available to all participants who are studying abroad for the first time.
