Congratulations Laura Uribarri – UTEP History Department’s 50th PhD graduate.
Described by her dissertation advisor as “the ideal doctoral student . . . remarkably organized, professional, and optimistic” Laura Uribarri completed the PhD program as a part-time student while simultaneously working as assistant dean in the College of Business Administration. With her background in public policy and government relations, Laura holds a BA in International Relations from Stanford University, a Master of Public Affairs from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Master of Arts in History from the University of Texas at El Paso. Her doctoral dissertation, “Transboundary Air Quality Governance: A Case Study of the Paso del Norte Air Basin, 1940-2000” explores the environmental history of the El Paso borderlands region.
