Ronald Weber

Dr. Weber received his PhD. in Ancient History from the University of Wisconsin in 1983. Dr. Weber teaches courses on the history of the Ancient Middle East, Greece and Rome. He leads an annual two-week study trip to Rome and Central Italy. He has been active in interdisciplinary curriculum development and teacher education. He has written about how to improve the training of college teachers in history and is active in developing new techniques for on-line teaching. His publications on Roman borderlands include: "The Composition of Livy 45.25-34: Illyricum and the End of the Third Macedonian War"; and "Polybius vs Cato: The Composition of Livy 45.19-25.” He has written about the Roman aristocracy in "Albinus: The Living Memory of a Fifth Century Personality.” His current research studies how in the 17th and 18th centuries Rome served as a world intellectual center, contributing to emerging national and global identities in Great Britain and North America. He currently serves as the Executive Editor of the journal Interdisciplinary Humanities.
