Congratulations to Dr. Reed
Dr. Krystia Reed and her collaborators Saeid Tizpaz-Niari (UTEP Computer Science) and Ashutosh Trivedi (U of Colorado Boulder Computer Science) have been awarded a grant from the National Science Foundation. The grant program is Designing Accountable Software Systems, and the title of the project is “Collaborative Research: DASS: Assessing Accountability of Tax Preparation Software Systems.” The DASS is an interdisciplinary grant meant to bring together experts from computer science, social sciences, and law to ensure that software systems are accountable to the law and are consistent with human behavior. The goal of the project is to assess the accountability of tax software. Dr. Reed will focus primarily on how human expert decision-making compares to that of software systems. These results will then inform her colleagues’ development of a framework for automatic testing and debugging software using metamorphic properties, incorporating AI and neural networks.
