Welcome to the college of Liberal Arts Secondary Teacher Education Program

The College of Liberal Arts Secondary Education Program is committed to assisting students prepare and successfully complete the process of becoming certified teachers in the state of Texas. The Secondary Education Program provides strategies for success through customized learning opportunities structured to meet your specific needs. We will actively engage faculty and staff to ensure student success. Services for students include:

Information on the Teacher Education Program
Identifying milestones to evaluate degree evaluation
Assistance in applying to the Teacher Education Program
Recruitment of incoming UTEP students: First-Year Freshman, Returning Students, and Transfer Students
Faculty presentations on Secondary Education student data

UTEP Graphic Design Students Embrace Modern Technologies

If you strolled this year’s Chalk the Block in Downtown El Paso, you may have noticed a booth selling posters designed by UTEP’s very own graphic design students. From afar, they appeared to be intricately and thoughtfully designed pieces, and up close, they are even more unique. Using an augmented reality application, students are bringing their works to life through animation.

A team of researchers hopes to help remote Indigenous communities in Alaska become more energy efficient. The team includes Olga Lauter, a visiting assistant professor of anthropology in the UTEP College of Liberal Arts who is part of an effort to help communities in Alaska improve energy efficiency in their homes and adapt to the changes.
