MOVE leaders scheduled the Agency Sign-up Day to assist community partners who may need assistance to submit their project applications to participate in this year’s event on Saturday, April 13. People familiar with the registration process will be available to answer questions.

Please RSVP at projectmove@utep.edu.

Project MOVE, which celebrates 10 years of serving the El Paso and neighboring communities in 2019, annually draws approximately 2,000 UTEP students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends. Organizers assign these volunteers to dozens of important tasks that support nonprofit agencies in and around El Paso.

While the work enhances the agencies, it also serves to build camaraderie and knowledge of what the agencies do and the people they serve. Thousands of Miners have cleaned, built, coached, patched, painted, planted, landscaped and many other activities for hundreds of grateful nonprofit agencies through the years. This event also strengthens the bonds between the University and the community.

“We hope as many nonprofits as possible take advantage of this opportunity to register for Project MOVE,” said Ofelia Dominguez, director of UTEP’s Union Services and lead organizer of this year’s Project MOVE. “This activity benefits them, but it’s also great for our students. Sometimes they are taken outside their comfort zone, but the experience builds their confidence and helps them grow as people.”
