History

Over the past 50 years, the UTEP College of Nursing has grown from a small, pioneering program on the U.S.–Mexico border into a nationally recognized leader in nursing education, research, and community-engaged practice. Across these five decades, the College has expanded its academic programs, strengthened partnerships with regional health systems, and prepared generations of nurses who reflect and serve the diverse Borderplex community. In this anniversary year, visitors will be able to explore the key moments, people, and achievements that define this incredible milestone and see how the College’s history has shaped the nurses of today and tomorrow.
