UTEP’s online curriculum blends online coursework with simulation-based educational activities designed for nurse educators. A bachelor’s degree in nursing and U.S. RN license are required to apply.
Minjeong "Min" Seo so appreciated the personalized support she received online from nursing education faculty that she returned to UTEP's online programs to become an adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner. As an NP, she combines her experience teaching new nurses at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics with improving her patients' health outcomes through patient education.
Nurse educators serve as faculty members in academic settings such as nursing schools, community colleges and technical schools to prepare the next generation of nurses for effective practice. Some also work in health care settings as staff development officers or clinical supervisors.
