Kathleen Zurlinden fell in love with engineering after participating in a NASA-sponsored program that allowed high schoolers to take engineering courses at UTEP. During her time in the master’s program, she conducted materials research at UTEP’s W.M. Keck Center for 3D Innovation. As a systems engineer in Air Systems Development for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, she wrote requirements for some of the capabilities on the F-35.
Graduates understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental and societal context. They can successfully practice the engineering profession in a variety of settings such as manufacturing, defense, aerospace, health care and more.
