Purpose
Africa is a continent in the early stages of significant development, however conditions vary with each country. Entrepreneurial geosciences at UTEP is a participant and contributor. Social aspects of development are particularly important.

Egypt - Country representative: Dr. Tarek Ibrahim. elsahabi@yahoo.com
Dr. Ibrahim has many years of experience in resource discovery and development in Egypt.
Dr. Ibrahim is an exploration geologist at the Nuclear Materials Authority. Dr. Goodell accompanied him on travels and meetings there, and in the UAE. The brother of Dr.Ibrahim initiated and owns mineral resource exploitation companies. Drs. Ibrahim and Goodell have published together, an academic product which resulted from a heavy sands resource study. Dr. Ibrahim will begin his second Post Doctoral Study in El Paso in late 2015.
Egypt Report #1 is directed to the unique discovery of an ancient map of the locations of gold deposits in Egypt. This has helped spawn Centamin, a gold producing company in Egypt, and foreign company bidding on other sites. Written by P. Goodell.
Egypt Report #2 is a document reporting on industry favorability and status as of 2010, written by Dr. Salmon. In January 2015, the country and region are in turmoil. Geologic opportunities await.
Kenya - Country Representative: Atanasio Njeru atjoeb@yahoo.com
Atanasio was born and raised in Kenya. He has strong academic and professional background in Business, Economics and Finance. He holds a BA Economics degree from the University of Nairobi, Kenya and an MSc . Public Management degree, from SDA Bocconi School of Management in Milan, Italy.
He is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Project Management practitioner (Prince2), holds professional certifications in Public Procurement from Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supplies in UK (CIPS 3) and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA 1 – Kenya).
Atanasio has a career background that includes working for United Nations and International NGOs in field of auditing, management and development. He is also an entrepreneur and has initiated many innovative business ideas. He is the founder and owner of Terra Nostra Ltd.(www.terranostra.co.ke), a private company in Kenya that invests in innovative ideas to sustainably utilize land as a natural resource.
