Dr. Koculi obtained her Ph.D. in Biophysiscs from Johns Hopkins University. She did a postdoctoral fellowship at The Scripps Research Institute and Yale School of Medicine in pofessor's Art Horwich's lab, where she worked in protein folding. Next, she did a postdoctoral fellowship in Olke Uhlenbeck's lab at Northwestern University, where she investigated the role of DbpA in E. coli ribosome assembly. Before coming to UTEP, she held faculty positions at University of Central Florida and Johns Hopkins University. Her research interests are RNA structure and RNA-protein interactions. In her spare time, Dr. Koculi enjoys going on hikes, cooking, and reading. |
