AMANDA GOODSON, Ph.D
Dr. Amanda Goodson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice at The University of Texas at El Paso. Her research focuses on system responses to crime victims and violence against women, with special attention to police responses to domestic and sexual violence survivors. She is particularly interested in establishing collaborations and working with practitioners to inform and enhance best practices in responses to crime victims.
ANTHONY VINCENT
Anthony Vincent, nicknamed “Tony,” was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and in 2009 moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina, where he was raised. Throughout his collegiate career at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, through his student engagement, Anthony was able to introduce campuses to varieties of Latin music as a DJ and social dancer. Through his ability to network and create connections with others, Anthony developed his goals of creating community while sharing his love and connection through music and dance.
Anthony has been training in Latin dance styles such as Bachata, Salsa, Mambo, and Cha Cha and currently serves as a performer and media director for Yambere Dance Company (El Paso, TX). He has a strong belief that social dancing is a great way to bring people of all levels of dancing together and can be a very uplifting, motivating, and fulfilling experience. He believes that all dancers have the capability to excel and every dance is a new experience to advance a person.

CARLOS ANDRES GOMEZ
Carlos Andrés Gómez is a Colombian American author, speaker, poet, and DEIA strategist from New York City. A star of HBO’s Def Poetry Jam and the Spike Lee movie Inside Man with Denzel Washington, Carlos partnered with John Legend on Senior Orientation, a program to counteract bullying and champion inclusive masculinities. He is the International Book Award-winning author of several books, including the poetry collection Fractures and the memoir Man Up: Reimagining Modern Manhood.

EDWARD "OBBIE" WEST WILSON
Edward Wilson, a.k.a. Obbie West is an international spoken word artist, advocate, and author. Originally from Los Angeles, California. Edward is a retiree from the United States Army. He began writing in 2011 and later published his first acclaimed book of poetry entitled "Blossom."
He travels the world as an educator, trainer, and speaker using poetry to tackle tough topics such as sexual violence, prevention, and awareness. Edward has invested a personal and sincere interest in shifting the climate around sexual assault and harassment throughout the U.S.
Military, universities, and communities at large. His uncut, straight forward approach to poetry is thought-provoking, captivating, and serves as a call-for-action for all in attendance. His award winning, signature Poem, "The Perpetrator's Perspective", was recognized by the Department of the Army and has been incorporated into sexual assault training throughout the military.
Additionally, he has developed a training outline that is impactful and attractive to all audiences, assuring his capacity to reach younger generations.

JUAN CARLOS AREAN
Juan Carlos Arean, Ph.D., is an internationally recognized activist, public speaker, trainer and facilitator, and published author. He works as a Program Director at Futures Without Violence. He has led hundreds of workshops and presentations throughout the United States, the Americas and the Caribbean, as well as in Europe, Asia, the US Congress and the United Nations in New York and Geneva.

EVAN LOPEZ
Evan Lopez is the Curator of Education for the University of Texas at El Paso’s Centennial Museum and Chihuahuan Desert Gardens. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and a Master of Arts in Latin American and Border Studies. His research interests lie in the intersections of critical border studies focusing on U.S.-Mexico Border education, border ontology, border epistemology, and the educational, social, and cultural implications of museums in marginalized communities like the U.S.-Mexico Border. He will be starting his Ph.D. in Teaching Learning and Culture in the Fall of 2023 at the University of Texas at El Paso.
