Upward Bound Math Science - Application
Apply now for UTEP Upward Bound Math Science!
Students who are interested in applying to be accepted into the UTEP Upward Bound Math Science (UBMS) program must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Plan to attend college/university and complete a math, science, or related degree
- First generation college bound (neither parent has a bachelor’s degree) and/or low-income
- Must be enrolled in a target school or live in a target high school area
Students who attend the following target schools or live in the target schools’ immediate area and meet all eligibility requirements may apply to the UTEP Upward Bound Math Science program:
Fabens Independent School District (FISD)
- Fabens High School
San Elizario Independent School District (SEISD)
- San Elizario High School
Tornillo Independent School District (TISD)
- Tornillo High School
How to Apply
Online: Interested students can apply for the program by using the online APPLY NOW link below to access and complete the application. Both student and parent(s) must complete the application in its entirety and submit it.
Mail/Email: Students may opt to print and fill out a physical copy of the application and submit it to the Upward Bound Math Science program office by mail or by email.

What Happens Next?
Student applications will be considered on a first-come-first-considered basis. Students will be contacted for a follow-up student/parent interview if their application is selected. Any information shared and received through the application and interview processes is kept confidential. If accepted into the program, students will complete a UBMS orientation session and submit any final documentation required.
