FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Everything starts with the information provided by our campus partners: in the case of an event, it’s the who/what/where/when/why/how. In the case of a program, it’s also the particulars. Who is your intended audience? What is the call to action? A rough draft of the narrative gets us on our way. We’re happy to polish and finesse as needed, after receiving the initial information from you.

Our office is within the Division of Student Affairs and is a resource for all Student Affairs departments. We do not charge for design, photography, video, web, and/or marketing planning. Some expenses are hard costs such as printing, but we will do our best to work within your budget.
We’d love to take a look and offer guidance. Our team of designers are brand experts and will let you know if your project is on brand and appropriate. If it’s not, we’ll make some suggestions to help you get it just right.

A lockup is an official, UTEP approved mark for your department, unit or program. UTEP has moved away from departmental logos and had developed a standardized system for identity. Contact Student Affairs Marketing to view and/or request your approved lockup.

When in doubt, call us! You can also check out the UTEP’s list of approved vendors  here . The on-campus print shop is also great resource for you.
For approvals of logos on promotional items, merchandise, and other retail items, please coordinate with Student Affairs Marketing. Our office is the primary resource to make sure that UTEP branding is consistently followed. Occasional updates to UTEP branding occur and coordinating with our office will help mitigate issues with the trademark usage approval process.
