Department: Computer Science
Christopher Kiekintveld is a full professor of computer science at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). His research in artificial intelligence focuses on addressing the core problems of deploying AI for real-world problems, especially in the areas of security and economics. He is particularly interested in multi-agent systems and robustness, including computational game theory, adversarial learning, decision making under uncertainty, and related areas. He has published more than 100 papers in top CS journals and conferences, and received funding support from agencies including NSF, ARO/ARL, IARPA, DHS, and ONR. He has worked on several deployed applications of AI including systems for FAMS and TSA, and has received many best paper awards, the David Rist Prize, and an NSF CAREER Award. He is particularly proud of the many students he has supervised and the contributions they continue to make in advancing the future of AI research for social good.
