The Aerospace Center has expanded its student-centered, skills development model to support emerging gaps in aerospace, defense and advanced manufacturing for a technically capable, future-ready talent-force.
Western Tech Aerospace and Defense Technology Associate's Degree
The Aerospace Center partnered with Western Tech to develop an Associate's Degree program for Aerospace and Defense Technology. This hands-on curriculum prepares students to become Aerospace and Defense Technicians who operate and maintain equipment used in developing, testing, producing, and sustaining new aircraft and spacecraft.
Student who successfully completing their Aerospace and Defense courses are fully prepared to test for these professional certifications:
- ISCET Associate Certified Electronics Technician
- ETA Associate Certified Electronics Technician
- ISCET Communications Journeyman
- FOA Fiber Optic Association
- IPC Soldering Certification
- IPC Wire Harness Certification
- OSHA certification
K-12 Outreach
The Aerospace Center wants to inspire, excite, and engage West Texas students to pursue careers in aerospace, defense and energy. The Aerospace Center will work with West Texas schools to design aerospace programs and provide presentations or tours for students to learn more about educational pathways to these high-paying, in-demand careers.
