Graduate Program
The Kinesiology Graduate Program is unique because of the following features:
- A low faculty to student ratio.
- Laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art research instrumentation.
- Students can pursue research on externally funded research.
- Students can conduct research in human fitness, strength and conditioning, motor learning and control, biomechanics, and exercise physiology
- In collaboration with other UT Systems Campuses students may be able to take online courses towards degree completion.
- Teaching Assistantships are available for qualified students.
- Undergraduate students have the opportunity to take up to three graduate courses during their final semester in their undergraduate program on the Fast Track

Admission Requirements
For admission into the master’s program in Kinesiology, students must present:
- An undergraduate degree in Kinesiology or a related field from an accredited institution with an overall GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Demonstration of academic achievement and potential as indicated by the results of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) and upper-level undergraduate and graduate coursework.
- TOEFL score of at least 550 paper based (80 Internet based) for students for whom English is a foreign language. Score of at least 600/100 required for TA positions.
- Written statement of purpose for pursuing graduate degree.
- Other evidence of background and experience that might be available.
- Students who participate in internships with agencies or school districts must successfully pass a background check.
For conditional admission into the master’s program in Kinesiology, students must present:
- An undergraduate degree from an accredited institution with an overall GPA of at least 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
- At least 12 hours of undergraduate Kinesiology core courses approved by the program graduate advisor.
- Demonstration of academic achievement and potential as indicated by the results of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) and upper-level undergraduate and graduate coursework.
- TOEFL score of at least 550 paper based (80 Internet based) for students for whom English is a foreign language. Score of at least 600/100 required for TA positions.
- Written statement of purpose for pursuing graduate degree.
- Other evidence of background and experience that might be applicable.
