Education Technology Collaboration Hub (ETCH)
Welcome to the Education Technology Collaboration Hub (ETCH) area located in UTEP’s College of Education room 208; a 3-in-1 technology area for all UTEP students.
The ETCH lab is an area where students can prepare, create, and collaborate in groups utilizing technology tools similar to those in the College of Education’s Active Learning Classrooms. The ETCH area includes three (3) collaboration hubs (small conference rooms) which students can reserve to work and collaborate in groups. The use of the collaboration hubs and technology resources provides UTEP students insight into what is available to become better teachers and future professionals by using and implementing the latest technology and collaboration skills.
The ETCH lab also includes an open computer lab with 23 computers with windows OS - printing available to all current UTEP students, as well as round tables where personal devices can be charged. This area can also be used to do projects, homework, presentations, etc. The ETCH lab area includes five undergraduate lab assistants that assist in running the day-to-day activities of the ETCH area and any required tech service in the College of Education.
The ETCH area also includes a state-of-the-art mini Podcast Studio. This studio gives COE faculty, students, and staff the opportunity to record audio and video podcasts, streaming sessions, and course lesson recordings, among other services. Up to 4 students/guests may participate in the Podcast Studio at one time. The studio is fully equipped with an audio and video isolated production area, offering easy-to-use professional studio/video equipment. For more information on our Podcast studio click here.
