Center for Student Success (CSS)
Whether you are aspiring to become an elementary, middle, or high school teacher, our mission at the CSS is to provide you with the guidance and resources you will need to help you complete your academic training and set you on track to a successful career.
Certification and Testing
The Teacher Education Program at the College of Education (COE) is accredited and approved by the Texas Education Agency to prepare teachers in 25 initial and 28 alternative certification fields across three different education levels. The COE also extends candidates the opportunity to become more marketable in the field of education by offering the coursework and preparation required to become Bilingual/ESL (English as a Second Language) certified.
Office of Student Teaching
The College of Education Office of Student Teaching, in collaboration with our regional partner school districts, provide multiple, substantial and varied experiences in schools that help student teachers build a strong foundation to understand learning theories and educational practices that enhance all students’ learning.
The student teaching experience involves the following:
- One semester-long placement in our partnered school campuses
- Provide multiple, substantial and varied experiences in schools
- Help student teachers to refine the knowledge, skills, and dispositions they have developed as active participants in the College of EducationTeacher Preparation Program.
