The Department of Civil Engineering at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) cordially invites you to our highly anticipated exhibition Building the Borderlands: The Legacy of UTEP’s Civil Engineers. The exhibit is free and open to the public. We welcome you to join us and bring your family and friends to help us celebrate the amazing achievements of UTEP’s Civil Engineers.
For the past 75 years, UTEP’s Department of Civil Engineering has educated the region’s civil engineers and helped transform the landscape of our community. In 1947, the University of Texas System Board of Regents approved a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering to provide an exceptional civil engineering education and implement economic development in the El Paso del Norte Region.
UTEP’s Civil Engineers have planned, designed, built, operated, and maintained infrastructure projects that have improved the quality of life for millions of people, locally and around the world.
This exhibit celebrates the achievements of the students, faculty, and alumni of the Department of Civil Engineering, while exploring the continued impact the department and its alumni have on the quality of life for the residents of the Borderlands. From the moment you wake up, to the moment you go to sleep, a civil engineer has designed your day-to-day life.
