CTIS Students Participated in the First ASPIRE Innovation Challenge
The 2025 ASPIRE Annual Meeting held its inaugural Student Innovation Challenge, organized by the ASPIRE Innovation Team. The event featured about 40 student participants, organized into eight teams, including students affiliated with the Center for Transportation Infrastructure Systems (CTIS).
The event included participation from eight students affiliated with the Center for Transportation Infrastructure Systems (CTIS), led by Council of Presidency members Isaac Zuñiga (Ph.D., Civil Engineering) and Pedro Chavez (M.S., Civil Engineering), along with graduate students Carlos Ortiz (M.S., Computer Science) and Adrian Morales (M.S., Electrical Engineering), alongside undergraduate student researchers Nacim Elias, Cesar Arriola, Karime Leon-Alvarez, and Emiliano Garcia.
The CTIS research team took on this 24-hour challenge by working on innovative solutions to real-world issues presented by industry stakeholders. All the participants had a mentoring experience and timely feedback from over 20 industry stakeholders while learning and collaborating through experiential learning.
