Extended University serves as the hub for nontraditional academic programs, professional training and education, and community enrichment. EU works with UTEP’s academic colleges to coordinate and manage our rapidly growing inventory of fully online degree and certificate programs.
Extended University includes the following units:
UTEP Connect is a suite of fully online degree programs. The goal of UTEP Connect is to make exceptional, affordable education accessible to anyone with the ambition to learn and the drive to succeed. It combines the high level of quality and engagement associated with earning a degree on our campus with the flexibility and convenience of an online education. UTEP Connect places higher education within reach.
The Office of Professional and Public Programs provides everything from customized training to businesses, government and nonprofits, to personal enrichment courses like archery and yoga. Their high-quality continuing education and professional training provide lifelong learning opportunities for personal enrichment, workforce and professional development, and academic growth.
The Center for Instructional Design (CID) is focused on providing research-based best practices in the design and development of online courses. CID also provides instructional technology solutions to assist faculty members in maximizing their students’ online learning experience, promoting student engagement, and increasing retention rates.
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UTEP (OLLI) provides learning opportunities to enhance the enjoyment, meaning, and direction of adult lives as well as the health and well-being of adults. OLLI seeks to develop a community of older learners who would be an integral part of the UTEP campus experience.
The Office of Youth Program Development and Support provides a centralized office on the UTEP campus to assist with planning, organizing and coordinating youth programs.
