Dr. Sunay Palsole

Dr. Sunay Palsole is the assistant vice chancellor for remote engineering education at Texas A&M University, and brings over 25 years of experience of being at the forefront of academic technology. He founded the Engineering Studio for Advanced Instruction and Learning (eSAIL) at Texas A&M and is charged with developing strategic innovative solutions for remote engineering education for both academic and nonacademic programs at College Station and Texas A&M regional campuses.

His current focus is on the use of technologies for educational transformation, particularly through the strategic development and integration of generative AI. He has led the development and integration of generative AI tools for student support, administrative efficiency, and increasing teaching and learning efficiency at scale. This commitment to innovation and outcomes-based design has consistently led to the development and adoption of data-driven strategies that measure and maximize teaching and learning efficacies across his service in various institutions of higher education. He has spoken on this topic at multiple conferences nationally and internationally.

A geophysicist by academic training and a proud UTEP alumnus, he began to design multimedia applications for teaching and learning in the late 1990s, developing his first online course in 1997. Named one of the Center for Digital Education’s Top 30 Technologists, Transformers and Trailblazers for 2016, he has helped hundreds of faculty from varied disciplines develop hybrid and online courses. He has also taught traditional, hybrid and online courses ranging in size from 28 to 280 with a high degree of learning success and student satisfaction.
