Claudia Lopez

Claudia López is pursuing a Ph.D. in Psychology with a concentration in health under the mentorship of Dr. Field. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at El Paso in Psychology with a minor in Philosophy. She obtained a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology and LPC licensure eligibility. While completing her clinical internship at El Paso Juvenile Probation Department, she became interested in the use of evidence-based practices as prevention and intervention for substance use. Her research focuses on the use of Motivational Interviewing and brief interventions to reduce substance use among juvenile offenders.
