Joe Torres
Joe R. Torres, lecturer, is the former Development and Public Relations Director for UTEP’s public radio station KTEP-FM, serving in that capacity from 2001 to 2013. His 49 year career in broadcasting included working in production and operations at television stations, KELP-TV and KDBC-TV. Mr. Torres also served as the sales and marketing manager at several El Paso radio stations including KVIV, KBNA-AM-FM, KAMA, and KELP.
Besides teaching Business and Professional Communication courses at the university, Mr. Torres is actively involved in local civic affairs serving as vice-president for membership and partnerships, of Pueblo Viejo Neighborhood Association in the Mission Valley. He is also a long-time volunteer at his church.
