Yannick Atouba
Yannick Atouba (PhD, Illinois) is an award-winning scholar whose research interests lie in the areas of organizational communication, organizational behavior, nonprofit organizing, and organizational science in general. His primary research focuses on inter-organizational organizing; that is, the forms and processes by which organizations, especially nonprofits, interact with each other as well as the various outcomes of those interactions. Additionally, he is also interested in the examination of organizational stakeholder’s behaviors and attitudes, and their impact on organizations and organizing. Dr. Atouba primarily uses social network analysis and other quantitative methods to examine organizational phenomena, and his research has been published in the Journal of Communication, the Management Communication Quarterly, the Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly, the Communication Yearbook, and other outlets.
At Texas-El Paso, Prof. Atouba has taught or is currently teaching courses such as (1) Organizational Communication, (2) Communication & Conflict, and (3) a graduate seminar in Quantitative Methods.
Dr. Yannick Atouba is originally from Cameroon, a country in central Africa, and he is fluent in both English and French. In his spare time, he loves reading novels, playing soccer, and watching TV. Yannick is an avid sports fan and enthusiast, and he follows world soccer, American football, and basketball quite religiously.
Dr. Atouba currently serves as the director of graduate studies/graduate advisor for the Communication department. He recently gave an interview to provide an overview of the graduate program in communication and to share some important information and advice for prospective applicants.
