RECENT GRANT PROJECTS
Dr. Melinda Tasca, Associate Professor of Criminal Justice is part of a multi-site grant to study the causes and consequences of prison violence across 7 states. The 2.7 million dollar grant was funded by Arnold Ventures and awarded to five different University Principal Investigators (PIs). Dr. Tasca is one of the PIs, in which UTEP will receive approximately $320,000 from this grant. Congratulations Dr. Tasca!
Dr. Misty Duke, Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice, is studying interviewee decision-making and using prospect theory to measure how much information is shared by the interviewee in response to how much they think the Interviewer already knows. Dr. Duke is an expert in interrogation and her research was funded by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the amount of $144,107. We are proud of Dr. Duke!
