Benefits
These Benefits Last a Lifetime
Army ROTC is one of the Nation's top leadership programs, with a wide range of benefits. Through Army ROTC you can:
- Get help with your college tuition with an Army ROTC Scholarship
- Gain experience you can't find anywhere else
- Gain the respect of your peers and future employers
- Train to become a leader and manager
Leadership
In Army ROTC you will learn to become a leader—not just a person who gives orders but a person who leads by example. Being an Officer in the U.S. Army means you're a counselor, a strategist and a motivator. It's similar to being a vital manager in a corporation. As an Officer, you will lead other Soldiers in all situations and adjust to environments that are always changing. You'll be driven to achieve success with your team on every mission.

Skills Development
The specific skills you receive in Army ROTC will include things like leadership development, military skills and adventure training. This will take place both in the classroom and in the field, but you will have a normal daily schedule like all college students. Army ROTC has two phases: Basic Course and Advanced Course.

Scholarships / Financial
Whether you're a college-bound high school student or already attending a college or university, Army ROTC has scholarships available. Scholarships are awarded based on a student's merit and grades, not financial need.

Tuition and Mandatory Fees
Pursuant to Texas State law, The University of Texas System Board of Regents (the Board) is authorized to set tuition. The student fees assessed are authorized by the State; however, the specific fee amounts are set by UTEP administration and The University of Texas System Board of Regents. Policies governing payment or refund of tuition, fees and other charges are also approved by the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System.
Once a student registers for classes each semester/term, tuition and fees must be paid by the payment deadline.
New students can choose between two tuition plans:
Traditional Plan: Tuition rates are locked for one year but may change each academic year.
Guaranteed Plan: Tuition is locked for four years, providing stability and helping families budget for college expenses.
New students are automatically placed in the traditional plan, but they can opt for the guaranteed plan.
For current rates, visit the Student Business Services website and select "Tuition and Mandatory Fees" for the relevant semester.
