Drumline Spring Training and Audition 2019
The University of Texas at El Paso Marching Miners Drumline will begin Spring Training April 11 for the Fall 2019 season. Associate Director of Bands, Dr. Andrew Hunter, Percussion Director, Dr. Andy P. Smith, and the Marching Miners, invite auditions from entering and returning UTEP students regardless of major field of study. Non-music majors as well as music majors are encouraged to audition.
The University of Texas at El Paso Drumline performs three to four half-time programs per season, and performs special events on and off campus throughout the year. The repertory includes our street-time, “Chile Verde,” and show music arranged by Dr. Smith (Crossmen, Star of Indiana), Dr. Brian Tinkel (Cavaliers, Carolina Crown, Star of Indiana), and for 2019, Benji Perez (Bel Air High School). UTEP Drumline emphasizes professionalism, musicianship, and performance technique and artistry transferable to total percussion performance and success as a music professional.
