THE UTEP DINNER THEATRE HOSTS SECOND ANNUAL KIDS SUMMER CAMP
The UTEP Dinner Theatre hosts their second Kids Summer Camp. This camp coincides with the Dinner Theatre’s summer production, SCHOOL OF ROCK – THE MUSICAL.
The UTEP Dinner Theatre, under the Department of Theatre and Dance, is holding its second annual Kids Summer Camp from July 13–18. Building on the success of last year's inaugural camp, the program continues its mission of introducing children to musical theatre through training in acting, singing, and dancing. In addition to developing performance skills, campers also learn valuable life skills such as self-confidence, teamwork, friendship, and camaraderie.
The camp concludes on Saturday, July 18, with campers joining the cast of School of Rock for the Saturday performance. This year's camp includes 44 participants: 12 children who were previously involved with the School of Rock production and 32 newcomers attending the camp for the first time. The camp is led by 11 counselors, six of whom are UTEP students.
The camp offers two distinct experiences: The Performer and The Technician. Each experience features daily sessions tailored to its focus. The Performer experience includes acting, singing, choreography, and performance preparation, while the Technician experience provides hands-on experience in set construction, costumes, and technical theatre design.
