Associate Professor of Art Accepted to International Contemporary Jewelry Exhibit
Associate Professor Jess Tolbert from the department of art was selected for the international exhibition for contemporary jewelry, SCHMUCKmünchen 2026. This year, SCHMUCKmünchen received 1,048 applications from 68 countries. Curator Sam Tho Duong selected 69 artists from 29 countries, highlighting innovative work that pushes the boundaries of art jewelry.
The special exhibition SCHMUCKmünchen has been held annually since 1959 as part of the International Crafts Fair in Munich, Germany. Its mission is to track and document new developments in the goldsmithing and silversmithing trades.
SCHMUCKmünchen demonstrates how design and culture evolve over decades and how jewelry serves as a powerful medium for conveying social, political, and personal messages. Professor Tolbert's selection places her among a distinguished group of international artists contributing to the future of contemporary jewelry.
