Faculty in Criminal Justice and Security Studies Receive Awards
Two faculty from the department of Criminal Justice and Security Studies were recently honored by the American Society of Criminology.
Dr. Amanda Goodson, assistant professor, was awarded the American Society of Criminology’s (ASC) Division on Feminist Criminology (DFC) New Scholar Award! This honor is awarded to an early career scholar (within 5 years of obtaining a PhD) whose research accomplishments have demonstrated outstanding contributions to the field of criminology and feminist scholarship. She received the award during the DFC Reception and Awards Breakfast.
Dr. Chris Guerra, assistant professor, was awarded the New Scholar Award from the Division on People of Color and Crime (DPCC), a division of the ASC. This is also his area of expertise and research. He received the award at the DPCC luncheon.
The American Society of Criminology’s Annual Meeting was held November 13-16, 2024 in San Francisco, CA.
