CoLART Professor Awarded Collaboration Fellowship, Partner with UACH Faculty

"In collaboration with the Tecnológico de Ciudad Juárez (ITCJ), the Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez (UACJ) and the Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua (UACH), UTEP has created the U.S – Mexico Faculty Collaboration Fellowship Program to support faculty embarked on new cross-border research. One of the inaugural six projects awarded is that of professor and chair of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Dr. Jeremy Slack. UTEP Launches Build-Your-Own Master’s Program

"From engineering to nursing and business to criminal justice, master’s students can now have their pick from a diverse array of coursework thanks to a new degree offered by The University of Texas at El Paso. The master’s program gives students the option to earn a degree by completing a graduate certificate and complementary master’s-level courses across UTEP’s colleges. Prospective students can now apply to the Master of Multidisciplinary Studies program and ramp up their career with graduate coursework across UTEP's different colleges. The Master of Multidisciplinary Studies degree is UTEP’s response to a student need for a program that could be tailored to a student’s specific interests, background and professional goals..." UTEP Faculty Member Wins Outstanding Teaching Award

"A faculty member from The University of Texas at El Paso has received one of the top teaching awards in Texas — The University of Texas System Board of Regents’ 2023 Outstanding Teaching Award (ROTA). The honorees — faculty from multiple UT academic and health institutions — were selected for demonstrating extraordinary classroom teaching and for their dedication to innovation. UTEP Breaks Ground on Texas Western Hall, New $110M Learning Complex

"...The University of Texas at El Paso broke ground on Texas Western Hall — a new $110 million building that will provide cutting-edge learning spaces for UTEP students. 'Texas Western Hall will replace one of the oldest facilities on campus and provide a modern learning space for students,' said UTEP President Heather Wilson. At approximately 125,000 gross square feet, the learning complex will include a five-story east wing and three-story west wing that are connected by a three-story collaboration space. Little Amal Continues Her International Walk At UTEP

"This fall will see Little Amal, a 12-foot Syrian refugee doll, journey across the United States to support and raise awareness for displaced children whether it be due to war, persecution, or violence. Little Amal is a representation of a 10-year-old Syrian refugee child. She has walked nearly 11,000 miles into 40 different cities since July 2021. The Amal Fund partnered with Choose Love, a humanitarian movement dedicated to providing aid to refugees in crisis, to support young people in their educational pursuits wherever they choose to rebuild their new home.
