Biographical Sketch:
Amy Nigh (PhD, University of Memphis) joined the department in 2025. Her teaching and writing are focused on contributions to social epistemology and Latin American philosophy. Broadly connecting these two areas is an interest in the ways that knowledge and power shape cultural and historical narratives. Her work employs philosophical genealogy as a tool to study the intersections of coloniality and knowledge, particularly in Latin America. Recent research delves into the challenges of navigating contemporary information landscapes, examining how cults, conspiracy theories, and fake news affect public discourse and collective understanding.
