Course-release after 3rd-year review
Third year (mid-term) reviews for tenure-track faculty will be delivered to the Dean by the second Friday of the month of May of an assistant professor's third year. Upon satisfactory review and by the Dean's recommendation, the tenure-track faculty member may be given one or two course release(s) for one semester in the following (fourth) year, either Fall or Spring semester, by agreement between the faculty member and the department chair. The amount of course release will be at the discretion of the dean and partially dependent upon the amount of course release in the first three years of the probationary period. Chairs will also, at their discretion, relieve such faculty from in-person service so that they can put their full attention to their research during their non-teaching semester as a way of advancing toward a successful tenure review.
