Sociology and Anthropology Department Represented at EPISD STEAM Career Fair for Middle-Schoolers

The Department of Sociology & Anthropology participated in the EPISD STEAM Career Fair on Wednesday, May 30. Dr. Frederick, along with students Melissa Castaneda (anthropology major) and Mara Gayton (sociology and journalism major) spent the afternoon engaging with over 400 middle-school girls from across the district about sociology and anthropology. Hosted by the Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy, the goal of the STEM Career Fair was to encourage middle-school girls from across El Paso to consider the wide range of career paths available to them in STEM fields. Our department welcomed the opportunity to nurture future sociologists and anthropologists at this event!
