Rafa PĂ©rez
Rafa Pérez is an Assistant Professor of Instruction at UTEP in the Department of Theatre and Dance where he currently teaches Acting Fundamentals and Introduction to Theatre. He is also Director of Audience Development for the Department. He received his MFA from the Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University in New York City. It was always his dream and goal to make positive impacts on the world and those around him, and thanks to theatre and UTEP, he is one step closer to doing just that. He is grateful to have colleagues and students that he can continue to learn from and grow not only as an artist, but as a human being. Most recently, Rafa directed a A Christmas Carol En la Frontera the Fall of 2019, and looks forward to directing CLUE for Spring of 2022.
As a professional actor, he has done film and voice-over work, and performed off off - Broadway at The Gallery Players, The Crowne Theater and The Secret Theater in New York City. Professional work in El Paso includes Shakespeare on the Rocks and various local commercials.
Rafa is a native El Pasoan and alumnus of UTEP.
