Use of Blumberg Auditorium
Conditions of Use
The Blumberg Auditorium may be used by University affiliated groups for the following purposes:
- Cultural events such as lectures for the general public.
- Academic programs such as lectures by visiting scholars.
- University business (workshops, administrative forums, etc.).
- Student Organizations must be currently registered with the Student Engagement and Leadership Center (SELC).
The room is NOT available for
The University Library has priority of use.
Capacity
The Blumberg Auditorium, located on the first floor, has a maximum capacity of 99 people; reservations cannot be made for groups expected to exceed that number.
Hours of Availability
Blumberg Auditorium is available one half (½) hour after the Library opens through one (1) hour before closing. No meetings will start before 9:30 a.m. on Saturdays to allow time for set-up. Exceptions to this policy are rare and must have the
Room Arrangements
The requesting party is responsible for all room set-ups and must return to its original arrangement immediately after the event. Standard room set-up: Blumberg is set up in Theater Style. If you have additional requirements, moving tables or chairs or other than those stated, please contact Facilities Services two weeks in advance. They charge a fee for their services (915) 747-7187. Groups using the room are responsible for the physical arrangement of chairs, and tables, and the return of furnishings to their original places immediately following the event/meeting.
Access to the Meeting Rooms
The room will be opened/unlocked 30 minutes before the scheduled time, so please include preparation time in your request. If the room is not open, please check with a staff person at the Media & Microforms (M & M) Desk on the first floor. M & M staff must be notified after the meeting that the room is vacant and ready to be secured.
Additional/Optional AV Equipment Needs
An account name and number will be provided to the Library for charging any equipment damaged or missing, damage to the room, furniture, or carpeting during your use of the meeting room. The Blumberg Auditorium has self-service equipment as follows: a podium, USB ports, Windows Computer, Speakers & microphone, Dual projectors/screens, and Interface cables for laptop connectivity. Other aids are also available, see the reservation form. Groups needing special equipment must indicate this at the time of the request. The Library Administration accepts no responsibility for setting up equipment if this information is not included on the form. Non-functioning equipment should be reported immediately to the Access Services Desk on the main floor.Technology Needs
