Getting Ready for the End of the Semester
Hi, my name is Nick Lopez and I am a tutor for Physics 2420. I am currently a Sophomore in Electrical Engineering and plan to minor in Math. In my free time, I enjoy journaling, listening to some vinyl albums, and I’ve recently taken up song-writing with a friend! Stay tuned for our album!
We have already reached the last two weeks of the semester and you might be thinking, “Oh no, it’s crunch time!” However, it doesn’t have to feel that way. In today’s post, I will share with you a couple of tips to prepare for the end of the semester:
- Set a schedule for finals week
Plan out what the last couple of weeks look like. Do you have exams before finals? Prioritize your time to study a little bit each day up until the exam. Got a final project? Take time each day to work on it and polish it up. Having an agenda or some sort of schedule allows you to be proactive and plan ahead instead of stressing out last minute.
- Reach out to your professors
This may not always be the case, but reach out to your professors and see if maybe there’s a couple of opportunities to raise your grade. Attend virtual office hours; take advantage of the last few assignments/extra credit opportunities. A lot of professors are willing to work with you if they see you making the effort, but you have to keep that line of communication.
- Take time for yourself
The last few weeks can be stressful, but make sure that you are up to tabs in your mind, body, and spirit. Make sure to take a little bit of time out of your day to relax and take your mind off things. It can be catching up on a book that you’ve been meaning to read, doing face masks, or even spending time with your fur babies (I’m sure they will appreciate it as well).
Once finals week is over with, you’ll have plenty of time for yourself and to de-stress. We are almost at the finish line guys, so let’s finish out this semester strong! Stay safe, stay healthy, and Picks Up!
