Orientation FAQs
Start here. Get quick answers, learn what to do before you arrive, and jump to the section you need.
Before you arrive
- Register for orientation. If you hit a snag, call (915) 747-6752.
- Set up your UTEP email and sign in.
- Send official transcripts as soon as possible.
- Upload your Miner Gold Card photo in the Get Mobile App (if eligible).
- Review parking details in your email a few days before your session.
- Plan for meals on campus. Bring a payment method.
- Bring a photo ID and your UTEP ID number.
Who should attend
- Freshmen and transfers: orientation is required before you register for classes.
- Early College High School students: see Special Student Populations.
- International students: attend UTEP Orientation and International Student Orientation.
- Fully online students: connect with UTEP Connect.
- Readmitted (continuing) students: orientation not required.

- Can I change my date? Yes. Call us.
- When do I register for classes? Spring: same day. Summer/Fall: Day 2.
- Are meals included? No. Buy food on campus.
- Do I get my Miner Gold Card? Only if pre-enrolled and photo uploaded.
- Do parents register? No. Attend Day 2 during Summer Freshman Orientation.
