Faculty and Staff Waitlist
Full-time faculty and staff may apply to be placed on a waitlist for permit types that are not immediately available. Review the information below before submitting your application.
How does the waitlist work?
You may apply to be on one waitlist at a time for a specific permit type, location, or zone (for example: Inner Campus Orange, Schuster 4, or Sun Bowl Garage).
- Only full-time faculty and staff may apply
- Being on the waitlist does not guarantee a permit in your preferred location or zone
- The waitlist is not a substitute for a parking permit - if you need to park on campus, purchase a permit or use paid visitor parking
- Purchasing a permit will not affect your waitlist application
When can I apply?
Applications open on the first business day of September and close on March 31 of the following year. Applications submitted before the opening date will not be considered.
Waitlist applications do not automatically renew. If you were not contacted during the year you applied, it means a permit in your desired location did not become available. To be considered again, you must submit a new application when the next cycle opens.

When will I be notified?
Waitlist positions are confidential. If a permit in your preferred location or zone becomes available and you are next in line, we will contact you directly by email.
There is no set timeframe - notification depends on which locations become available and what you selected in your application. Positions are filled on a first come, first served basis for complete and correctly submitted applications.
I was contacted - what do I do next?
When a permit in your preferred location becomes available, we will email you with instructions. This notification is time-sensitive - you have 3 business days to respond.
Did not respond in time?
Failure to respond cancels your waitlist application. If you still want to be considered for that location, you will need to submit a new application when the next cycle opens.
How does an exchange affect my payroll deductions?
If you are paying via monthly payroll deduction, collections for your current permit will stop and new collections will begin for your new permit at a pro-rated amount based on the date of purchase.
